Ruth Samad, R.N., Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PSY11658, as well as a Pediatric Nurse. Dr. Samad completed her graduate training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1982. As a faculty member at the Emory University School of Nursing and the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, she has taught courses in child behavior and development to nursing students. Currently, she is on the faculty in the School of Nursing at San Diego State University.
In Dr. Samad's clinical practice, her areas of specialty include working with children and families, including behavior problems of preschool and school age children, helping families to cope with divorce, and teaching parenting skills. Dr. Samad has a special interest in children with chronic illness and gifted children. She also works with adults, focusing on depression, anxiety disorders, and self-esteem issues.
